Welcome!

The library staff is dedicated to supporting you, your teaching, and your students’ research needs. We invite you to stop by for an introduction to our library resources and information. You may also visit the library website or go to AXIS, click Resources, and select High School Library to explore online resources.

Library Resources 

We provide access to sixteen online databases for you and your students, including JSTOR, Oxford English Dictionary, and Oxford Reference eBooks. We also offer access to Gale databases such as High School, Opposing Viewpoints, U.S. History, World History, Gale in Context Literature, Environmental Studies, Science, Gale in Context Science, Religion and Philosophy, Gale eBooks, and Power Search! Additionally, we offer eBooks through Overdrive/Sora to support your curriculum. Print copies of the core curriculum supplement books are available for class use only, and some textbooks are available for use in the library. We welcome book recommendations that will enrich our collection and encourage student reading. 

Classes in Library/Atrium

Teachers must always accompany classes in the Library or Atrium.  If you would like to request class time in the Library Or Atrium, please email or call extension 230.  You can place resources on reserve in the library to ensure equal access and availability for your students' projects.  Mrs. Diana Kim-Yoon, the Head Librarian, is available to work with you and your students to provide useful research tools.  Additionally, all freshmen will receive an orientation to the library in Bridge 101, which introduces students to the OCHS library culture, expectations, and resources.  You can also speak to the library staff about showcasing your students' work or your department's special events in the library.
