The Huntsville Public Library is located on courthouse square in Huntsville, TN. It was established in 1986.
The mission of the Scott County Public Library is to provide free access to educational and recreational information in a variety of formats to any person regardless of age or residency.
Library Cards are available to residents Scott County plus residents in the other counties served by the Clinch River Regional Library. Borrowers must fill out an application and present address verification such as a driver's license, rent receipt, or utility bill with the borrower name and address or student ID. If unable to provide address verification, the borrower will be mailed a post card and may return that card as verification of the address to receive a library card. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent, grandparent, or other responsible adult present when they apply for borrowing privileges. The adult must sign the borrower card agreeing to accept responsibility for books borrowed by the child.
The collection includes books for all ages, magazines, DVDs, audio and CD books, and a local history collection.
A library card gives borrowers access to READS, the Tennessee Regional eBook and Audiobook Download System.
Computers are available for public use as well as free Wi-Fi for personal devices.
