The New England Historic Genealogical Society is the country’s oldest genealogical organization, devoted to collecting, preserving, and publishing genealogical and historical matters relating to New England families. (Access is available from inside the Lakes Region Library only)

With over 1.5 billion names in over 4,000 databases for conducting genealogical and historical research (Access is available from inside the Library only)
Heritage Quest
Heritage Quest Online provides users with a unique, growing collection of research materials for tracing family history and American culture. (Library card number required for access outside of the library)

The Citrus County Library System has hundreds of Genealogy related titles available for loan and check-out. From how-to guides to genealogical dictionaries these resources are great for beginner and experienced researchers.
UF | Citrus County Chronicle Digital Archive
The University of Florida's George A. Smathers Library has full PDF scans of the Citrus County Chronicle available to view online. Newspaper scans begin in 2005 through today.
