Literary Criticisms - There are a couple of resources that have literary criticisms of The Things They Carried which help to give some background on the text and it's historical perspective.  Here are the links to information from Gale's Literature Resource Center as well as the Michigan eLibrary's (MeL) Literary Reference Center.

eBooks - We do have three eBooks that deal specifically with the Vietnam War: Encyclopedia of the Vietnam War, Vietnam War: Essential Reference Guide, Vietnam War Reference Library, and Vietnam War Era: People and Perspectives.  Additional information about the Vietnam War can be found by doing a general eBook search.

Database Resources - Using Gale's PowerSearch, one can find a lot of information on the Vietnam War.  Filtering your results, with the "search within" feature, can help to weed out extraneous information.  The U.S. History inContext database has a great overview on the topic and here is where you can find information on the Vietnam War from our National Geographic database.
